The Getting Lost Game is a real world travel adventure game created in New Zealand and played around the world to get wonderfully lost and explore new places.

Designed by Kiwi Travel Bloggers Cat & James, Getting Lost has been wingman to over 50,000 adventures around the world.

You're looking at the expansion packs, these kits contain fewer cards than the full starter packs as they are designed mainly to be add-ons to the starter packs. However, read on because you can adapt a couple for quick games. We have 2 types of booster (expansion) packs: Mini Starter Expansion Kits (Out of Town and Walkers Editions) and Expansion Kits (Summer and Winter Boosters).

  • Expansion (booster) Packs

These expansion (booster) packs are mostly activity based.For maximum adventure - it’s recommended to combine these editions with an Adventurers, Te Reo or Aussie Edition as these have all the direction cards you need to get moving around and exploring while stopping to do fun things with this pack.   

  • Mini Starter Expansion Packs

These ones can be used on their own for speedy games or they can be added to a starter pack as a booster to mix things up or to just refresh your usual kit and surprise your fellow travellers!

Summer Edition - Expansion Pack (Starter Kit Recommended)

The Summer Pack is all about giving you inspiration when you are out and about exploring this Summer.

Purposefully nostalgic they have loads of the things we all did on Summer Road Trips when we were young like stopping for hot chips at a country pub, climbing trees, building sculptures out of driftwood, ice creams and dive bombs!

The Winter Edition - Expansion Pack (Starter Kit Recommended)

The Winter Edition is all about giving you inspiration when you are out and about exploring this Winter. 

Purposefully nostalgic and cosy the Winter Edition has loads of the things we all did on Winter Road Trips when we were young like building dams, jumping in puddles, collecting treasure and heading for the patch of blue sky.

The Walkers Edition - Mini Starter Expansion Pack

The Walkers Edition has 10 misdirection cards to use when you are adventuring on foot. Your direction will be determined by the weather, letter box numbers, the flip of a coin and even the direction birds are flying in.  

It’s perfect for changing up your neighbourhood walk, exploring a new place or a fun, free activity with the kids.

The Walkers Edition can also be added to other Getting Lost Games to add more direction cards.

Out of Town Edition - Mini Starter Expansion Pack

The Out of Town Edition has 15 misdirection cards specifically written for when you’re getting lost out of town.

Designed for a few laughs as well as inspiration you’ll find cards like “Cow – go left, Sheep – go right”.  There’s now a twist on your favourite cards – Stop for a treat is now Stop for a treat at the next dairy with a Tip Top sign and Head for Home is now Head for home after you see a tractor.

The Out of Town Edition is designed as an add on to an existing Getting Lost Game but could be used as a very short version of the game as a stand alone game.

The other games have generic misdirections that are easily transportable to where ever you are in the world. The Out of Town Edition is the most “Kiwi” of all the misdirection cards so if you are playing outside of NZ you will need to adapt a few cards for your local area with some local features like Tip Top Dairies (a well known ice cream brand in NZ) and Pukeko’s (a large, blue-purplish, wetland-dwelling bird spotted often in NZ).

Care Instructions

Shipping

Domestic Shipping

All items will be shipped from Waitakere, New Zealand.

We aim to dispatch all orders (with the exception of custom orders, bulk orders and pre-orders) the next weekday (excluding public holidays).

Domestic Rates

Shipping for non-rural New Zealand addresses is $8.50

Tiny products like jewellery or greeting cards will show a shipping option of $4.00 for non-rural New Zealand addresses.

If your order is eligible this option will be offered at checkout. 

Rural addresses may incur an additional fee ($3.50)

Local Delivery

Delivery is available for locals to Waitakere, Auckland.

The cost is $5 per order - delivery times arranged after purchase.

If your address is in range, the delivery option will show at check out.

International Shipping

Shipping to Australia incurs a flat rate cost of $20 (NZD).

Please note that not all items are eligible for flat rate shipping cost of $20 to Australia, this includes breakables, heavy and oversized items. You will be notified if your item will incur higher charges.

If you are outside of Australia, please email us for a shipping quote.

Return policy

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can not offer you an exchange or credit.

To be eligible for a return, the product must be in the original condition as when purchased, being unused, unwashed, and accompanied in the original packaging.

Please send an email to: elise@strangerscollective.co.nz and return it to us at the address provided within 14 days of the receipt of the products.

Once received and assessed we will either replace it, exchange it or offer a store credit for the purchase price. To complete your return, we require a receipt of proof of purchase and also the reason for returning.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.


Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be returned, unfortunately sale items or TradeMe Reserve items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send an email to: elise@strangerscollective.co.nz and send your item to the address we provide.

Store credits (if applicable)

Once the return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your credit, if we are unable to exchange or replace firstly.

If you are approved, then your store credit will be processed, the credit will be issued and will be automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

We may at our discretion negotiate contributing to shipping costs,
